Be friendly and welcoming to the customers when they arrive at the restaurant Introduce customers to the menu and or announce the menu specials Answer questions about menu items, ingredients Takes customers’ orders for food and drink and makes sure of any allergies or special requirements Pass customer orders along to kitchen staff for preparation Collect food orders from the kitchen, verify that they are correct, and serve them to customers Remove used dishes, glasses, and flatware from tables Process cash and credit card payments and return change to customers if necessary Set tables with dishes, glasses Maintain familiarity with menu items, specials, and restaurant information
